The problem it solves

Similar āyāt are where even strong Huffādh slip

Not because you are a weak Hāfidh - but because near-identical wording has never been mapped in a way built for memory. These are the moments this guide is made for.

The same slip, repeated

You make the identical error again and again - and no one has explained the root cause.

Freezing in Taraweeh

Your mind goes blank, the congregation waits, and the moment stays with you afterwards.

Crossed-over pairs

You know the āyah - but you keep confusing it with a near-identical one in another Surah.

Silent fading

Passages you secured years ago are blurring at the edges, and you can't pinpoint where.

Passages you avoid

There are sections you skirt around, because you already know exactly where you might trip.

Never a real fix

Mutashābihāt have always been the weak point - and repetition alone has never solved it.

Who it's for?

Leading Taraweeh

Huffādh who recite publicly and can't afford a mid-prayer blank.

Frequently mixing pairs

Anyone who repeatedly confuses two near-identical āyāt.

Wanting structure

Those tired of "just revise more" and ready for a system.

Building confidence

Anyone who wants to revise without that quiet fear of slipping.

Not a beginner's book

It's for the Juz you already know, whether you finished years ago or you're in your final years of Hifdh.

What's inside every pair?

Every card comes in 3 Arabic fonts: Indo-Pak, Amiri and Scheherazade.

A real pair from the guide (Pair 2) - two similar āyāt side by side with the differing words highlighted, shown in the Indo-Pak font

Side by side

See exactly where they diverge

Commonly confused āyāt are placed directly beside each other, with the differing words highlighted - so the precise point of confusion is visible at a glance, not buried in a list.

A real pair (Pair 14) with its Key Difference and Memory Tip explained, shown in the Amiri font

Understand it, then make it stick

Each pair carries a plain-language explanation of the exact wording change, followed by a practical memory tip designed to hold the difference in place through everyday revision.

Pattern recognition

Spot the patterns that repeat

Recurring structures across similar passages are surfaced deliberately, so you build recall through recognisable patterns rather than isolated memorisation.

Built for revision

And the tools that make it easy to use

Find any pair fast

Search by pair number, āyah, surah name, or a word in Arabic - with or without vowel signs - or type it the way it sounds in English.

Track what you know

Every card has Save, Note, and Solid / Shaky, so you can see what is secure and what still needs work. Revise a Juz is there for your next revision session.

Read it your way

Choose from 3 Arabic fonts, including an Indo-Pak style, set the text size you are comfortable with, and switch to night mode when you revise after dark.

Whole families on one card

Where an āyah has more than one look-alike, up to 7 similar āyāt sit together on a single card, so you see the whole family at once.

The next āyah, where it matters

Where two āyāt end the same way, the next āyah is shown too - so you know what comes after each ending.

Waqf signs in their exact place

Indo-Pak waqf (pause) signs are shown at their exact place in the āyah, so you can see where to pause.

"Why not just use free resources?"

A fair question - and there are genuinely excellent free resources out there.

What they do well

Most free resources help you find which āyāt are similar - and many do it well. If you simply need to locate pairs, they are a real gift, and this guide is not here to replace them.

What this adds

This guide is built to help you remember them. The value isn't collecting information - it's organising, comparing, annotating and presenting each pair so long-term revision becomes genuinely easier. It complements what already exists.

One example: most resources give only a surah and āyah number, leaving you to hunt for the page. This guide gives the exact page number in the 13-line Mushaf - and the Juz and quarter it sits in - so you turn straight to the pair in your own copy, instantly, without searching.

  Free resources This guide
Helps you find which āyāt are similar
Explains the exact Key Difference
Practical Memory Tip for every pair
Side by side - no flicking between pages
Organised by Juz & quarter for revision
Exact Mushaf page number - not just Surah:Āyāh
Only genuinely confusable pairs - not every repetition
Other resources tell you which āyāt are similar. This one shows you why they differ - so you're far less likely to mix them again.

The real guide: pick a Juz, open a pair, mark it Shaky

Built to help you remember - not just find

Almost every existing resource answers the same question: which āyāt are similar?

That is useful - but it is not the hard part. Knowing two āyāt resemble each other doesn't stop you mixing them up at Fajr or mid-Taraweeh. What changes revision is understanding the exact wording that diverges, and having a way to make that difference stick.

So this guide was built around memory itself. Each pair is placed side by side, the precise difference highlighted, and a practical memory tip attached - turning a moment of confusion into something you can actually hold onto.

Common questions

What exactly do I get?
The Similar Āyāt Mastery Guide: 616 pairs and families of similar āyāt that Huffādh mix up, across all 30 Juz (1,358 cards, because a pair appears again in every Juz it belongs to). Each card shows the āyāt side by side with the words that change marked, a Key Difference, a Memory Tip, and the page in the 13-line Mushaf. Around them: search, Save, Note, Solid / Shaky and My revision.
How do I get it after paying?
Straight away, by email: a message called "Your Similar Āyāt Mastery Guide is ready" with a green button. Tap it and the guide opens. No password to choose. (Check Junk if you can't see it.)
Does it work on my phone?
Yes: phone, tablet or computer, in your browser. Add it to your Home Screen and it opens like an app, and it works offline once you've signed in. Your copy works on 2 of your own devices. It works in current Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox on phones, tablets and computers.
Which Mushaf does it follow?
Page numbers are for the 13-line Mushaf, and you can read the Arabic in an Indo-Pak font with its waqf signs. Every card also has the surah, āyah, Juz and quarter, so it works alongside any Mushaf.
I already have a Mutashābihāt book. Do I need this?
It's built to sit next to it. Most books list which āyāt are similar; this shows each pair side by side, marks the exact words that change, and tells you in English how to remember which is which.
Is it only for Huffādh?
It's for any Juz you already know: Huffādh revising all 30, and students in their final years of Hifdh. It isn't a beginner's book.
Is it only useful in Ramadan?
No. Taraweeh is when a slip is loudest, but the same forks catch you in everyday revision. The simplest way to use it: before you revise a quarter, read its cards.
Can I share it with my class or family?
Your copy is personal to you. Showing a single card to a friend or your teacher is always fine. To give someone their own copy, tick "This is a gift" when you buy.
What if I change my mind?
Until you've opened the guide, you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund. Once it's open, it can't be returned for a change of mind, so please look at the real cards on this page first. If anything is wrong with it, tell me and I'll put it right or refund you.
How accurate is it?
Every pair was checked by hand by a Hāfidh of 13+ years, and the Arabic comes from the standard Hafs text, never retyped. If you ever spot something that looks wrong, reply to any email and I'll check it.
I'm on the waitlist. How do I use my code?
It's in the email sent at 9am on Sunday 25 October. Tap its button, or enter WAITLIST30 at checkout with the email you joined with. It works until 23:59 UK on Wednesday 4 November.
Will there be a print version?
There's no print edition planned for now.
