Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information The Fluent Hāfidh collects, how and why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We've written it in plain English and structured it to follow current UK data-protection best practice.
Who we are
The Fluent Hāfidh (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK-based business selling digital products and downloadable resources that help students protect and strengthen their Qur'an memorisation. This website is operated using the Shopify platform.
For the purposes of UK data-protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the “data controller” of the personal information described in this policy - meaning we decide how and why it is used.

Information we collect
We only collect information we genuinely need. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Contact details - your name and email address when you join our email list, download a free resource, or message us.
- Message content - anything you write to us through the contact form or by email.
- Assessment responses - the answers you give in the Revision Health Assessment. These are collected and stored through Tally (our form provider) and used to generate your result and improve the tool.
- Order & payment information - when you buy a digital product, details needed to process your order (such as name, email and billing information). Card payments are handled securely by Shopify Payments; we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Technical & usage data - information collected automatically by cookies and similar technologies, such as device type, browser, and how you use the site. See Cookies & analytics.
We do not intentionally collect any special-category data (such as information about religion or health). Where you choose to tell us such things in a message, we only use it to respond to you.
How & why we use your information
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Here is what we use it for, and the basis for each:
To process purchases and give you access to the digital resources you've bought.
When you join our email list or download a free resource, we add you to our mailing list and send helpful revision tips and updates. You can unsubscribe at any time - see Email list & marketing.
To reply to questions, feedback and enquiries you send us.
To generate your result and improve the tool. Responses are collected via Tally.
To see how the site is used so we can make it better. Only used where you have accepted analytics cookies.
To keep records of sales and comply with tax and consumer law.
Email list & marketing
When you subscribe to updates or download one of our free resources, you're added to our email list and will receive our newsletter and revision tips. We make this clear at the point you give us your email address.
You are always in control:
- Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- You can ask us to remove you at any time by contacting us.
- We never sell or rent your email address to anyone.
Our email is sent through MailerLite, who process subscriber data on our behalf under our instructions.
Cookies & analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to keep the site working, to remember your preferences, and - with your consent - to understand how the site is used.
- Essential cookies - needed for the site and checkout to work (set by Shopify). These don't require consent.
- Analytics cookies - Shopify sets some cookies to measure how the store is used (its built-in analytics). We do not currently use any third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Marketing/social cookies - we do not currently use any advertising or social-media tracking pixels.
Where required, non-essential cookies are managed through Shopify's built-in cookie-consent banner. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the business, and only so far as they need it to do their job. These may include:
- Shopify - our website, store and checkout platform.
- MailerLite - to manage our mailing list and send emails.
- Shopify Payments - to process payments securely.
- Tally - the form provider that collects and stores your Revision Health Assessment responses.
- Make (make.com) - the automation service that securely connects our tools (for example, passing sign-ups from Tally to MailerLite) so your information reaches the right place.
- Professional advisers & authorities - such as accountants, or regulators, where the law requires it.
Each provider acts as our “data processor” and is bound to protect your information. We recommend reviewing their own privacy notices for full detail.
International data transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK (for example in the United States or the European Economic Area). Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we rely on safeguards recognised by UK law - such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum - to keep it protected to the same standard.
Providers such as MailerLite, Shopify, Tally and Make may process data outside the UK; each provides safeguards of this kind.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy, or for as long as the law requires.
- Mailing-list data - until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
- Order & accounting records - kept for 6 years, as required by UK tax law.
- Contact messages - kept for up to 2 years after your enquiry is resolved, then deleted.
- Assessment responses - retained in Tally until they are no longer needed or you ask us to delete them.
When we no longer need your information, we securely delete or anonymise it.
How we protect your information
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe, and we work with reputable providers (such as Shopify) who maintain their own strong security. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and to respond promptly if anything goes wrong.
Your data protection rights
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights over your personal information. You can exercise any of them free of charge by contacting us.
Access
Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
Rectification
Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
Erasure
Ask us to delete your information in certain circumstances.
Restriction
Ask us to pause how we use your information.
Objection
Object to us using your information for certain purposes.
Portability
Ask to receive your data in a reusable format.
Withdraw consent
Withdraw consent at any time, e.g. by unsubscribing.
Complain
Raise a concern with the ICO (see below).

Children's privacy
Our products are intended for a general audience and are typically purchased by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links & social media
Our site and emails may link to other websites and to our Instagram page (@thefluenthafidh). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. When you visit Instagram or another platform, their own privacy policy applies to any information they collect about you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time - for example, when we add new services such as coaching. When we do, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page, and where changes are significant we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.
